Chris Gardner Jr.
Chris is a native of Stafford County, VA, home of the Annual Reel American Heroes Fishing Tournament. He is a graduate of North Stafford High School (2005) and has always had a strong interest in sports and the outdoors. He grew up fishing on Aquia Creek with his brother and his best friend and is no stranger to the waters here.
Chris shared Ron’s passion to help get our Nation’s Heroes out on the water since he attended his first RAHF Tournament. His dad is a former Marine, so it was easy to get behind the cause. Since RAHF was founded, Chris has assisted at each of the annual tournaments with both weigh-in, tackle, and registration. In February of 2016, he accepted the position of Tournament Director and is excited to help further the mission of RAHF.
Chris has spent the last ten years volunteering at Dale City Volunteer Fire Department, holding the rank of Tower Lieutenant and serving as Treasurer on the Board of Directors for three years – so he is no stranger to volunteer work. He has been honored for his service to the community within DCVFD, being awarded “Officer of the Year” and “Firefighter of the Year” on several occasions, in addition to being honored at the local VFW post.
He is currently employed as a Professional Firefighter/EMT with Spotsylvania County Fire, Rescue, & Emergency Management and will be beginning the Paramedic program at VCU in the coming year. He is married to Executive Director, Ashley Gardner, and is the proud father of two little girls, Ava and Annabel. They reside in a lakeside community in Spotsylvania, VA.
